Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest producer of flat-rolled steel in North America. We have the scale and technical capacity to lead an increasingly quality-focused steel marketplace.

Our unique, vertically integrated business model provides a competitive advantage over other steelmakers that procure a larger proportion of their steelmaking raw materials from external sources, and allows us to control our production from upstream mining to downstream stamping and tubing.

Steelmaking

We are fully integrated from mined raw materials to primary steelmaking to downstream stamping, tooling, and tubing, giving us unmatched control over the reliability and quality of our supply chain.

Toledo DR Plant Contributes to Sustainability Goals

In 2020, we completed the world's most advanced direct reduction facility. This natural-gas-based plant produces hot-briquetted iron (HBI), an environmentally friendly alternative to scrap and imported pig iron used in the steelmaking process.

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has manufactured Electric Resistant Welded tubing since 1977, and we are leaders in Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) tube production. Our veteran steel tube mill operators have the expertise to solve even the most complex tubing challenges.
