Automotive
Collaborating with Automakers Worldwide
The automotive industry is our largest market. We specialize in manufacturing difficult-to-produce, high-quality steel products to meet automakers' exacting requirements. We enjoy a collaborative relationship with many automakers, often from the early design stages, and we back our products with top-quality customer service.
We supply specialty products required in the most recent, fuel-efficient automotive designs, including a full range of electrical steel for H/EV motors, sophisticated grades of AHSS, and value-added stainless steel products.

Distributors and Converters
A Reliable Partner to Steel Service Centers
The market for steel and tubular distributors and converters consumes virtually every grade of steel that we produce. This market generally represents downstream steel service centers, which purchase our steel and fabricate it according to their customers' needs.
Featured Product
Agion® Anti-microbial Steel Coating
The Agion antimicrobial compound has been registered by the Environmental Protection Agency as an antimicrobial agent which can resist the growth of bacteria, molds and fungi. Additionally, the Agion antimicrobial coating offers stain resistance, as well as a smoother surface, resulting in antimicrobial-coated steel that is easier to clean and maintain. Agion can be applied to components throughout the entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, including air handlers, ductwork, and diffusers. These coatings can also be used on many other carbon and stainless steel products, including commercial refrigeration systems, appliances, and building components. For manufactured HVAC components, coatings are available through authorized shop coaters. Coils of antimicrobial-coated carbon and stainless steel may be purchased directly from Cleveland-Cliffs, or the coatings may be applied by an authorized coil coater to carbon steel purchased from any manufacturer.
Steel Producers
Raw Materials that Increase the Quality of End-Steel Products
The steel producers market represents third-party sales to other steel producers, including those who operate blast furnaces and EAFs. It includes sales of raw materials and semi-finished and finished goods, including iron ore pellets, coal, coke, HBI, and steel products.
As a result of our recent acquisitions, most of our iron ore production—more than 20 million long tons—is consumed by our own, vertically-integrated steelmaking operations.
